In 1991, the City of Pasadena Public Health Department in partnership with a collaboration of community agencies recogned the growing need for HIV services in the San Gabriel Valley. Through this partnership, the Pasadena Public Health Department embarked on a new venture and began providing HIV/AIDS medical outpatient services to HIV-infected individuals at the Andrew Escajeda Clinic. The clinic was named after Andrew Escajeda, who was a City of Pasadena employee dedicated to the HIV/AIDS cause. Today, the clinic is called the Andrew Escajeda Comprehensive Care Services (AECCS).
For over 20 years, AECCS has been responsible for providing HIV and AIDS medical outpatient services to HIV-infected individuals. AECCS is committed to providing innovated, culturally competent, compassionate and high-quality comprehensive HIV medical treatment, mental health, risk-reeducation, HIV education prevention services free of charge to our clients. Our professional staff of doctors, nurses, social workers, nutritionists, counselors, case managers, and treatment adherence specialists work together to effectively coordinate your healthcare needs. Services are available to low-income, uninsured, and Medi-Cal/Medicare-insured individuals living in Pasadena and Los Angeles County. AECCS is a recipient of the Ryan White CARE Act, funds provided by the Los Angeles County Office of AIDS Programs and Policy (OAPP).
