Cheer on 10 vocally talented youth during the Pasadena Idol competition Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. The free, family friendly event happens 6-8 p.m. at the Garfield Promenade of Paseo Colorado, 280 E. Colorado Blvd., with the red carpet opening at 5 p.m. Public parking is available at Paseo Colorado and is free for the first 90 minutes with validation.
The winner of this year’s competition will receive the Idol Demo Pack, including studio time to produce a two-song demo and music video, 100 CDs for distribution, a feature article in The DENA Magazine and the opportunity to perform at city venues.
The 10 contestants who will compete for the crown were selected from a pool of 40 who auditioned earlier this year. The singing talent contest is produced by the City’s Human Services and Recreation Department as an outlet for local youth to showcase their talents.
