The “Great California ShakeOut” is Oct. 17

ShakeOut_CA_2013_Poster_DCH_Protect Pasadena Fire Department reminds you to be prepared for emergencies and consider participating in the “Great California ShakeOut” at 10:17 a.m., Oct. 17.

Drop, Cover, and Hold On: Drop to the ground, take Cover under a table or desk, and Hold On as if a major earthquake were happening and stay down for at least
60 seconds.

During the drill, imagine what would happen in a major earthquake. What would fall on you or others? What would be damaged? What would life be like after? What will you, your family, workplace or school do before the actual earthquake happens to reduce losses and quickly recover?

Practice what to do after the shaking stops. Have discussions about what you learned and incorporate these lessons into your disaster plan.

For further information or disaster preparedness presentations please contact the City’s Emergency Management Coordinator at (626) 744-7276. Will you be prepared for the next emergency? Visit www.shakeout.org/california.
