Lots of great family fun is happening at the Rose Bowl Stadium this summer! Starting first with Americafest 2013, featuring Kenny G, things kick into high gear with Gold Cup Soccer action and the hot Justin Timberlake-JAY Z concert.
On July 7, reigning Gold Cup champion, Mexico, defends its title against Panama. Tickets available through Ticketmaster. On July 28, Justin Timberlake and rapper JAY Z perform as part of the “Legends of the Summer” concert tour.“Concert proceeds will go toward the RBOC's operating budget and, if there's a surplus, the ongoing stadium renovation,” Rose Bowl Stadium General Manager Darryl Dunn said.
Dunn said the Rose Bowl Stadium project is on track and is meeting its objectives. The Pavilion, nearly completed, is a major milestone achievement for the project and will be a primary revenue generator for decades to come, he said.
The 185,000-square-foot pavilion features two glass-walled press areas and other patron amenities designed to boost long-term revenues and keep the 1922 historic stadium competitive with newer arenas.
The expanded layout features 48 midfield loge boxes with access to a shared, indoor lounge below 54 indoor/outdoor luxury suites on two upper levels. Flanking the loge area and suites are 1,199 club seats on two levels with access to special club lounges.
The twin press boxes anchor either end of the Pavilion while the top level features booths for TV and radio, coaching staff, video staff and Public Safety personnel. Other improvements for all fans include wider tunnels, better restrooms and concession areas.
“Revenue generated by suites, loges and club seats is expected to exceed $7 million per year,” said Cory Shakarian, vice president of Premium Seating Sales.
