It’s time for Pasadena Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Club, June 8 to Aug. 4. This year’s theme is “Reading is soooooooo Delicious!” and there will be an amazing array of fun things for children and teens to do!
Children, up to 12 years old, can improve their reading skills, earn fun prizes, and enjoy great shows. Joining is simple and easy to do. Stop by any of the 10 Pasadena libraries to pick up a free book bag and reading record. Track your summer reading, bring in your reading record and collect your prizes!
Join us for professional performers and storytellers, storytimes and programs. You won’t want to miss special performances by Pacific Animal Productions, Angie Donkin and the Music Boat, Yvette Brandy, Jose Luis Orozco, Antonio Sacre, Dr. Cory Hills and Arty Loon. For more information, call (626) 744-4045 or visit www.cityofpasadena.net/ library/kids.
Teens, ages 13 to 18, can participate in Pasadena Public Library’s Teen Reading program. Stop by your neighborhood library now through Sunday, Aug. 4, to fill out an entry form any time you finish a book, magazine, comic, manga or audio book. If we pick your name in our weekly drawing, you win a prize! Weekly drawings begin June 17. All entries are automatically entered in the grand prize drawing of a Nook Color!
Join us for such fun teen activities as cooking classes, monopoly tournaments, jewelry and printmaking and a special “Fear Factor Food Challenge.” Visit www.cityofpasadena.net/ library/teens or call (626) 744-4766 for more information. Sponsored by The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library.
