Bigger Rebates, More Free Workshops for Water-smart Customers

The water shortage and restrictions on watering days may have ended in Pasadena, but summer is no time to slack off on saving water. PWP recently increased its rebates on high-efficiency washers (now $250) and smart irrigation controllers (now $200). We also offer excellent rebates on efficient rotating sprinkler heads ($5 per nozzle). The Turf Replacement Rebate program returns Aug.1, offering $1 for every square foot of lawn replaced with water-wise landscaping. For complete details, visit www.cityofpasadena.net/rebates.
We’ve also lined up a slate of landscaping workshops to help you prepare for the prime fall planting season (early Autumn is best for establishing new plants).
During the Cut Your Grass workshops Saturdays, July 16 and Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon, learn the best techniques for permanently removing grass and establishing a water-wise landscape.
At our Rainwater Harvesting workshop Saturday, Sept. 17, you’ll discover all the ways you can collect and save water on your property, from rain barrels to rain gardens.
During the Native Nights workshop Saturday, Oct. 5, discover the joys of vibrant, low-maintenance, Pasadena-friendly landscaping with renowned horticulturist-educator Lili Singer.
