Turn on your porch light, step outside and help give criminals the boot Tuesday, Aug. 2, during National Night Out.
Once the sun goes down that evening, more than 37 million people around the globe are expected to take part in this annual show of solidarity against drugs and crime. It’s the biggest event of its kind in the country.
Here in Pasadena, everyone is invited to gather from 6 to 9 p.m. at Victory Park, Altadena Drive at Paloma Street, for a festival full of games, food, crime prevention displays and visits with Pasadena police officers and firefighters.
Can’t make it to the party? Organize your own! Residents across Pasadena are invited to host their own flashlight walks, cookouts, block parties, contests and children’s activities to build neighborhood spirit and strengthen police/community partnerships. Pasadena police officers would love to support your event. To schedule a visit that night, call the Pasadena Police Department Community Services Section at 744-7657.
