When the Metropolitan Water District shut down a major pipeline for 10½ days in March, PWP faced a 40 percent cut in water supply and had to rely on limited reserves and groundwater to meet demand. Fortunately for everyone, the good will and cooperation of our customers helped stretch supplies through the most critical water shortage we’ve ever seen.
PWP customers, who had already made huge strides in becoming more water wise over the past two years, proved once again they are super savers. By eliminating all outdoor watering and conserving indoors wherever possible during the shutdown, PWP customers cut their water use by 39.4 percent, or 96 million gallons.
We made it through, thanks to you!
