PWP Honored with Top Awards

State and national leaders took note this spring of PWP’s above-and-beyond efforts to serve and strengthen our community.

PWP was one of just 82 utilities nationwide to earn the prestigious Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) designation from the American Public Power Association for providing customers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service. PWP was lauded for its outstanding record of reliability, safety, workforce development and electric system improvement.

For the ninth year, PWP received a Tree Line USA Award from the National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters for our efforts to protect Pasadena’s urban forest. PWP was recognized for our active power-line clearance program, superior tree care techniques, careful crew training, community outreach and efforts to promote shade trees for energy conservation.

Adding another jewel to the city’s crown, PWP received a 2011 Community Service/Resource Efficiency Award from the California Municipal Utilities Association for our innovative Outward & Upward program. The project trained enthusiastic students from Outward Bound Adventures Inc. to provide one-on-one bilingual support for rebate applications and efficient lighting to hard-to-reach residents and small-business owners throughout Pasadena, helping them cut their water and power bills.
While the recognition is gratifying, nothing is more rewarding than earning the support, confidence and trust of our customers.
