Family Fun Day is Saturday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at La Pintoresca Branch Library, 1355 N. Raymond Ave., and La Pintoresca Park including free entertainment, great food, arts and crafts, a skate park competition and more.
Theatre Americana will take you on a sentimental journey through the World War II era with its USO show honoring veterans and active military personnel Wednesday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Lamanda Park Branch Library, 140 S. Altadena Dr.
Enjoy classical guitar music performed by rising stars from the Pasadena Conservatory of Music Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m. at Hastings Branch Library, 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd.

Turn your garden into a water-wise oasis with Green Day: Southern California Landscaping presented by the Theodore Payne Foundation, Los Angeles County Arboretum and local gardening experts Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Linda Vista Branch Library, 1281 Bryant St.

During Book Talks in the Donald R. Wright Auditorium at Pasadena Central Library, 285 E. Walnut St., meet Catherynne Valente, the Hugo Award-winning fantasy author of “Palimpsest,” Wednesday, May 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. and “Helen of Pasadena” author Lian Dolan Thursday, May 12 at 7 p.m.
