Great news: Out of 7,400 public library systems recently rated across the nation, Pasadena was one of just three in California to win four stars. That’s even more reason to celebrate Children’s Book Month in November!
Young readers ages 12 and under can enjoy fun storytimes, parties and concerts throughout November. We’re forgiving the late fines on children’s books, replacing children’s lost library cards for free and offering one free paperback book to every child (while supplies last) who comes to one of these very special events:
Gigi and Mike will entertain children with sing-alongs and a zoo of percussion instruments Monday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. at San Rafael Branch 1240 Nithsdale Rd.; Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Linda Vista Branch Library, 1281 Bryant St.; Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Allendale Branch Library; Saturday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. at Central Library, 285 E. Walnut St.; and Monday, Nov. 22, at 3:30 p.m. at Villa-Parke Branch Library, 363 E. Villa St., and 7 p.m. at Hastings Branch Library.
Preschoolers can enjoy festive songs, crafts and tales about music during special story times Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. at Hastings Branch Library, 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd.; and Thursday, Nov. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Allendale Branch Library, 1130 S. Marengo Ave., and La Pintoresca Branch Library, 1355 N. Raymond Ave.
Little ones can sink their teeth into a special dragon book party complete with refreshments and a special guest Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 3:30 p.m. at Hill Avenue Branch Library, 55 S. Hill Ave.
