A new group of property owners will be honored for protecting Pasadena’s landmarks during the 6th annual Historic Preservation Awards.
Scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at La Casita Del Arroyo, 177 S. Arroyo Blvd., the annual program recognizes outstanding efforts to restore, rehabilitate and maintain some of Pasadena’s finest architectural buildings.
Our community has long been recognized for its impressive variety of architectural styles and historic buildings, many designed by Greene & Greene, Myron Hunt, Wallace Neff, Sylvanus Marston, Richard Neutra and others. Preserving these landmarks has become one of Pasadena’s proudest achievements. There are more than 1,000 properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places, more than 50 works by Greene & Greene, 17 local landmark districts and 80 individual historic landmarks.
Last year, Pasadena’s historic City Hall shared honors with Santa Fe Station, Snyder Diamond Store, First Lutheran Church, First Financial and Pinocchio’s Pizza in the category of commercial/ institutional, and 10 residential property owners were recognized.
