During spring and summer 2009, city staff interviewed more than 75 stakeholders, representing residents, business owners, property owners, neighborhood associations, local non-profits, institutions, advocates and cultural leaders. These interviews helped identify questions, concerns and topics before we expanded the discussion to the wider community.
Community Organizations
City staff and members of the General Plan Update Advisory Committee (GPUAC) conducted General Plan workshops for more than three dozen community groups, including neighborhood, business and non-profit groups. The sessions helped participants pinpoint the qualities and characteristics of Pasadena that are most important to them as well as identify the community’s most pressing issues.
The city also created a Do-It-Yourself Workshop kit and provided training for people interested in facilitating their General Plan discussions.
