Personnel at Pasadena’s seven fire stations respond to approximately 15,000 calls for service each year. In the event of a major earthquake the personnel and equipment they house will be the first to respond. However, an independent analysis indicated that all but one of the stations is at risk of failure in the event of a major earthquake. At the same time, state seizures of local funds have dramatically reduced the city’s resources and we have limited funds to make these urgent repairs to our fire stations or to make other basic safety upgrades to important city infrastructure. Public input is important as we move forward. Please take a few minutes to send us your fire-safety priorities and comments.
