You can pay your business tax (renewals only) through the internet. To pay by this method please have your credit card and business license account number information available. Your account number is required to pay online. If you do not have your account number, please contact staff in the Business License Section at (626) 744-4166. There is a $7.50 convenience charge per business license account, paid by this method. The maximum you can pay by this method for a business license is $5,000.00. If your payment exceeds the maximum amount allowed, please contact business license staff at (626) 744-4166.If there are any changes needed to your business license account, remember to contact the Pasadena Business License Section in writing.If your business address, ownership or number of employees has changed, please do NOT pay your bill online. If paying by mail, payment must be made by check, money order or credit card. Please make your check payable to The City of Pasadena. Checks and money orders payable by banks outside of the United States are not accepted as well as two-party checks. Please do not mail cash.

On September 19, 2012, Governor Brown passed a Senate Bill (SB 1186) which would implement a $1 state mandated fee from all local businesses. Beginning on January 1, 2013 the City of Pasadena will charge an additional $1 fee to all local businesses. This includes but not limited to rental properties, out-of-town businesses, home-based businesses, contractors, exempt businesses, and non-profits. The primary intent of SB 1186 is to limit the liability of businesses against lawsuits under the American Disability Act (ADA).
