HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AND E-WASTE COLLECTION JUNE 21, 2014
PASADENA, Calif.—Residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste for free from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Parking Lot K outside the Rose Bowl Stadium during this annual collection event co-sponsored by Pasadena’s Department of Public Works and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.
Document shredding will not be part of this event. The next document shredding events hosted by the City are currently scheduled for July 12 and Nov. 8, 2014.
Separate drop-off stations for household hazardous waste and electronic “e-waste” will be available in Parking Lot K. Look for signs directing you to the event and the drop-off station you need. Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to use caution while in the area. Please note that document shredding will not be available at this event. Household hazardous waste items include used motor oil, oil filters, antifreeze, automobile and household batteries, paint, brake fluid, paint thinner, cleaners with acid or lye, pesticides or herbicides, expired pharmaceuticals and fluorescent light bulbs.
E-waste items include computers, keyboards, printers, monitors, laptops, docking stations, scanners, shredders, fax machines, computer mice, telephones, televisions, flat screens, VCRs, DVD players, PDAs, cassette players, tape drives, stereos, and household batteries. Many of these products have parts that can be recycled.
The public can bring a maximum of 15 gallons of household hazardous waste and up to 125 pounds of e-waste. For more information on this free event, visit www.cityofpasadena.net/PublicWorks.
