PASADENA, Calif-- Sylvan Esso, the Durham, N.C.-based electronic duo has been announced as the special guest headliner for Make Music Pasadena, Saturday, June 7, performing on the Playhouse District Eclectic Stage presented by dusitD2 constance pasadena.  This exciting addition to the free festival comes just a week after the release of their highly praised self-titled debut LP on New York’s Partisan Records.  The band will join more than 150 other performers playing free concerts throughout downtown Pasadena.

Sylvan Esso shares the bill with a diverse lineup of popular acts from around the world, such as Malaysian pop R&B artist Yuna, Israeli Ethio-soul artist Ester Rada presented by Consulate General of Israel, and Cameroonian singer-songwriter Andy Allo, along with domestic indie rockers Surfer Blood, surf-pop duo Tennis, Korean-American folk-rock band Run River North, and many more. Make Music Pasadena hosts twelve-hours of diverse and unparalleled musical programming. Pasadena’s largest summer event will host performances in alleys, buses, churches, libraries, museums, rooftops, and other impromptu public spaces throughout Downtown Pasadena.

Since its inception, Make Music Pasadena has been free to the public, providing more than 850 free concerts to date. Make Music Pasadena relies on public support and donations to help fund an event of this magnitude.  Donations, starting at $5, include a broad range of great perks, from branded wristbands and signed CDs, to memorable experiences, such as all access passes, and even the opportunity to sit in on a recording session. Check out all of the perks and opportunities to support Make Music, and make your donations by credit card at www.makemusicpasadena.org.

Last year, Make Music Pasadena was successful in crowdfunding to help pay for the costs to put on such a large event. Once again, the public's help is needed to make this event happen. With your support, we want to keep this event free and most importantly keep up a large and high caliber festival for the community.
