Update: Suspect Charged in Officer Involved Shooting In Pasadena October 11, 2013

 UPDATE FOR OCTOBER 21, 2013: 

 CHARGES FILED AGAINST OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING SUSPECT  

PASADENA, Calif.--One Thursday, October 17, 2013, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office formally charged Paris Holloway with four felony criminal counts and one misdemeanor count, resulting from the October 11th officer involved shooting that occurred near Hammond Street and Sunset Avenue in the City of Pasadena.   

Paris Holloway (Pasadena Resident) was charged with Penal Code 245(D)(1) Assault with a firearm upon a peace officer, PC 29800(A)(1) Possession of a stolen firearm, PC 30305(A)(1) Felon in possession of a firearm, PC 496 Possession of stolen property, and Health & Safety Code 11364.1(A)(1) possession of  drug paraphernalia.  Holloway was arrested on October 11, 2013 and remains hospitalized.

OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING IN PASADENA OCTOBER 11, 2013 

PASADENA, Calif.—On October 11, 2013 at approximately 10:00 a.m., two patrol officers observed a male pedestrian in the area of Hammond Street and Sunset Avenue.  Officers attempted to contact the male who ran into a nearby housing complex. Officers pursued the male who presented a firearm and an officer involved shooting (OIS) occurred. The suspect was shot and transported to a local area hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive. A handgun was located near the suspect.  

The suspect has been identified as Paris Holloway, Black male, 23 years old and Pasadena resident.  Pasadena Homicide/Assault Detectives are on scene and actively conducting the investigation.  The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office was notified of the OIS and investigators are responding.
