NEW, RE-ELECTED PASADENA COUNCILMEMBERS SWORN INTO OFFICE MAY 6, 2013
PASADENA, Calif.--Newly elected Pasadena Councilmember John J. Kennedy and re-elected Councilmembers Terry Tornek and Victor Gordo were sworn into office Monday night, May 6, 2013 by City Clerk Mark Jomsky. The Oath of Office was administered by Jomsky before a packed, standing-room-only Council Chamber filled with family, friends, government, business, civic and community leaders.
District 7 Councilmember Tornek and District 5 Councilmember Gordo were re-elected to office earlier this year in landslide primary election victories. Kennedy, who will represent District 3, replaces former Councilmember Joel Bryant, who temporarily filled the District 3 seat for about five months once long-time Councilmember Chris Holden resigned after being elected to the California Legislature last year. Kennedy also won election to his first term in the March 5, 2013 primary election with about 56 percent of the votes.
