CITY WEBSITE, ONLINE SERVICES OUT DURING CITY TECH UPGRADES MAY 11-12
PASADENA, Calif.—All residents and businesses are reminded that the City of Pasadena will be making important technology infrastructure upgrades that require downtime for the City’s website and all online services beginning at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11 until about 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 12.
Customers of Pasadena Water & Power (PWP) should note that website access for accounts and both online and telephone payments will be unavailable during this period. PWP will extend the payment, collection and credit shut-off period for two additional days to allow customers to make payments without penalty.
Pasadena residents and businesses with any power emergencies should call PWP at (626) 744-4673. For water-related emergencies, call (626) 744-4138.
The Pasadena Public Library website, the Pasadena and Glendale online book catalog and renewals by telephone will not be available. All Pasadena library sites will remain open and most services will be available, including WiFi and computer labs.
The Library is embracing the technology work by providing patrons with opportunities to experience what a library was like in the good old days! Join the Pasadena Public Library as it goes “Low Tech” May 11-12. Before May 11, go online to http://pasadena-library.net/lowtech/ for a real-time list of services that will be affected throughout the weekend.
Patrons still will be able to return and check-out library books and other materials, but eBooks, electronic resources, DVD Vending collections and other digital services will not be available.
Pasadena’s Central Library, 285 E. Walnut St., has planned a relaxing day of simple, “Back to Basics” pleasures, low-tech style, for visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, May 11.
