Public Help Needed For Blood Drive, March 19-21

PASADENA, Calif.—The public is asked to join with City of Pasadena employees to participate in a blood drive March 19-21, 2013 sponsored by the Pasadena Public Health Department and the American Red Cross.

“We’re asking for anyone who can to donate blood and help save lives,” Public Health Department Director Dr. Eric Walsh said.

Walsh said there is a national need for donated blood.  Last year, donations were down more than 10 percent across the country, with 50,000 fewer pints of blood available than expected. Public participation is critical in meeting needed blood transfusions.  Each blood donation has the potential to save more than one life, Walsh added.

The Blood Drive will take place for the following dates, locations and times:

Tuesday, March 19,

Water and Power held at the Hilton Hotel

168 S. Los Robles Ave, in the Pasadena Room

9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
