TRAGEDY ON CHRISTMAS DAY
PASADENA, CA – On December 25, 2012, shortly after 11:00 a.m., Pasadena Police Officers responded to Newport Avenue and Wyoming Street regarding 911 calls of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival police officers discovered that a vehicle had collided into a light-pole. The driver, later identified as Damion Taylor, male Black-24 of Pasadena, sustained a gunshot wound. Officers located a second gunshot victim lying on the sidewalk, north of the collision site. The second victim (a pedestrian) was identified as Victor J. McClinton, male Black-49, also of Pasadena.
Pasadena Fire Department paramedics responded and transported both victims to a local area hospital. Tragically, Mr. McClinton was pronounced dead at the hospital. Damion Taylor, who has been identified as a gang associate, remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. There does not appear to be any connection between Mr. Taylor and Mr. McClinton except that they were in the same general area when the shooting occurred.
Pasadena Police detectives responded and continue to investigate this crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241, or you may report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or http://lacrimestoppers.org (insert key word Pasadena).
