2012 One City, One Story Selection Will Be Revealed Dec. 5

2012 One City, One Story Selection Will Be Revealed Dec. 5
Pasadena Public Library’s 10th One City, One Story selection will be announced Monday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m. during the City Council meeting in room S249 at Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave.

Mayor Bill Bogaard and Jan Sanders, director of the Pasadena Public Library system, will unveil an enlargement of the book cover.

A 14-member community committee chose the novel. Last year’s selection was “Mudbound” by Hillary Jordan.

Pasadena’s annual community reading celebration is designed to broaden and deepen an appreciation of reading and literature in the community, engage participants in dialogue and bring Pasadenans together by promoting greater understanding of differing points of view.

Thousands of people read the same book and participate in related events including a conversation with the author, film series, book discussion groups, exhibitions, lectures and other activities.

One City, One Story events will be scheduled throughout March 2012, including a March 22 community dialog with the author. The full calendar will be announced in the near future.
