The community is invited to the next meeting of the Northwest Commission on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6:30 p.m. to learn how the Pasadena Police Department is helping at-risk youths, engaging residents in public safety activities and preparing for the reintegration of convicted felons.
Police Chief Phillip Sanchez will discuss two intervention and prevention programs aimed at helping at-risk youths make positive choices and a third program that encourages greater understanding between citizens and officers. Sanchez will also address how the department is preparing for the release of state prison inmates resulting from a U.S. Supreme Court decision that found California’s prisons overcrowded.
The meeting will be at Jackie Robinson Center, 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave. For more information contact Lola Osborne at firstname.lastname@example.org
