February 2014 Highlights

FEB. 3 

ARCADIA- PD-1 responded to the area of Michillinda Ave. and California Blvd., to assist Arcadia patrol units with a vehicle pursuit.  The air crew was quickly overhead and assumed control of the pursuit.  A short time later while attempting a turn, the suspect lost control of his vehicle and crashed.  The suspect exited the vehicle running on foot.  The air crew maintained a constant eye on the suspect as he ran from the scene.  The air crew also directed Arcadia and Pasadena PD patrol officers to the suspect.  The suspect was detained without incident and later arrested for Evading a Police Officer.

FEB. 4 

ARCADIA- PD-1 responded to the area of 400 W. Sharon in the City of Arcadia regarding a residential burglary that just occurred.  Prior to the air crew arriving on scene, one of the suspects was detained.  The air crew set a containment up in the area and coordinated yard searched with patrol officers.  A short time later search teams located an unlocked garage door.  The second suspect was located inside the garage and was detained without incident.  Both suspects were arrested for residential burglary.

FEB. 7 

PASADENA- PD-1 was patrolling in the area of Fair Oaks Ave. and Washington Blvd. when the air crew noticed two bicyclists riding recklessly in the street, nearly colliding with several vehicles.  The air crew followed the cyclists and requested a patrol unit to contact them for the violations.  As patrol officers attempted to stop the cyclists the air crew saw one of the cyclist throw and item while continuing to ride.  After the two cyclists were detained, the discarded item was retrieved and found to be narcotics.  Both suspects were arrested for a narcotics violation.

FEB. 7 

PASADENA- PD-1 responded to the area of Hill Ave. and Union St. regarding a DUI driver.  PD-1 arrived in the area and located the vehicle driving out of the area.  PD-1 directed responding patrol units to the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted.  The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

FEB. 15 

PASADENA- PD-1 responded to the area of 2900 E. Colorado Blvd. regarding a male assaulting a female inside a vehicle.  The air crew immediately located the vehicle parked to the rear of a business and directed ground units to it.  The suspect was contacted inside the vehicle and arrested for domestic violence.

FEB. 16 

GLENDORA- PD-1 responded to the City of Glendora regarding a vehicle attempting to flee from officers.  Patrol officers lost sight of the vehicle in the area of the 210 Freeway and the 605 Freeway.  PD-1 began checking the area for the vehicle and located it abandoned in the area of Buena Vista and Maynard Dr. in the City of Duarte.  PD-1 then located two subjects walking in the area that matched the description of the vehicle occupants.  PD-1 directed patrol units to the subjects and they were detained without incident.  Both subjects were identified as occupants in the vehicle and were arrested for Evading, Narcotic Possession and one was a parole at large.   

FEB. 18 

ALHAMBRA- PD-1 responded to the area of Primrose Ave. and Main St. regarding a theft that just occurred.  The air crew arrived in the area and located the suspect running on foot.  The air crew followed the suspect as he ran into a restaurant and directed patrol units.  The suspect was detained inside the restaurant without incident.  The suspect was arrested for Petty Theft.   

FEB. 19 

PASADENA- PD-1 responded to the area of Euclid Ave. and Mountain St. regarding search for a suspect wanted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping and Domestic Violence.  Prior to PD-1 arriving on scene the suspect was located and fled on foot.  The air crew arrived overhead and located the suspect in a yard in the 800 Block of North Garfield Ave.  The air crew maintained a constant eye on the suspect and directed patrol units to him.  He was contacted and arrested without incident.

FEB 19. 

ALHAMBRA- PD-1 responded to the area of 1200 Fremont St. regarding an armed robbery.  The suspect was last seen on foot in the area and a containment was set up.  Using the FLIR camera, the air crew located the suspect hiding inside the containment between and wall and bushes.  The air crew advised patrol officers and directed them to the suspect.  The suspect was arrested for robbery without incident.
