Counties across the State and nation have reported an increase in the number of influenza cases. With an overall spike in flu cases, the California Department of Public Health is urging people 6 months of age and older to get their annual flu shots.
The Pasadena Public Health Department is still offering flu vaccinations at its Travel & Immunization Clinic located on the Second Floor of 1845 N. Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, CA 91103. No appointment is necessary. Regular business hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (closed for lunch 11:30 am to 1:00 pm).
In addition to getting flu shots, public health officials are reminding people to practice the following three "Cs" of flu prevention:
- Cover your cough
- Clean your hands with soap and water
- Confine sick people at home (do not go to work or school if sick)
