Pasadena residents can help prevent the breeding of all mosquito
species, including those that carry the West Nile Virus by emptying all
standing water in containers left outside, keeping swimming pools clean, and
regularly checking for mosquito larvae in still water sources such as bird
baths and ponds.
Preventive measures include wearing repellants containing DEET,
avoiding mosquito-infested areas at dawn and dusk, wearing long-sleeved shirts
and long pants when outdoors, and checking your window screen for holes.
For more information on vector control, to receive free mosquito fish
